TAIJI began DJing in 1995. In 2002, he was a representative of Asia at the World DJ Championships in London, where he claimed 2nd prize. In 2004, he won the DMC Japan final and achieved impressive results at a variety of conventions, proving he’s one of the best turntablists in Japan. His ability to exercise precision control in beat juggling, well- developed musicality and sense of originality are renowned not only in Japan, but around the world. The exacting musicianship of his PLAY, which fully exploits the techniques cultivated in the competitive world of DJing, has its roots in HIP HOP. It involves flexibility in play style with respect to song selection, guided solely by a freedom of thought with mysterious origins and full of originality, TAIJI’s take on GOOD MUSIC developed over his long career and his world view that changes in terms of time, genre and border are unrelated. He is also a member of the stylish turntablism group T-SKRABBLE DJs, which hail from Kansai. This group focuses primarily on studio productions and turntable performances, which incorporate a certain degree of aggression as a primary element.
